2014 APAMSA Northeast Regional Conference
On behalf of the New England Region (Region 1) and the New York/New Jersey Region (Region 2) of Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), we would like to welcome you to the 2014 APAMSA Northeast Regional Conference, which will be held at Weill Cornell Medical College on Saturday, February 8th. All medical students and anyone involved in or interested in healthcare are welcome to attend.
APAMSA is an organization of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) medical students committed to addressing the unique health challenges of API communities through education, outreach, advocacy, and service. We hold a regional conference each year, which brings together medical students from nearly every medical school in the region. In addition, we are joined by faculty, other healthcare colleagues, and pre-medical students, as well as medical students from across the nation. Together, we renew our shared commitment to the health of the API community and form new friendships to bring to life our transformative visions and ideas.
This year’s conference theme is “Empowerment: Redefining the Face of APIA Health.” Our aim is to explore the roles and challenges of API heritage individuals in leadership and community empowerment, as well as to provide a wonderful opportunity to meet role models who were once in our shoes. We have an exciting roster of speakers and workshop coordinators for you, all of whom are accomplished leaders in medicine, healthcare, and the API community. We hope you will be inspired by what you learn here and carry that inspiration with you in your future as physicians and leaders.
