APAMSA Northeast Regional Conference 2013
On behalf of the New England and NY/NJ Regions of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), we would like to welcome you to the 2013 Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) Northeast Regional Conference, which will be held at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on Saturday, March 9th. All medical students and anyone involved in or interested in healthcare are welcome to attend.
APAMSA is an organization of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) medical students committed to addressing the unique health challenges of API communities through education, outreach, advocacy, and service. We hold a regional conference each year, but this year we are trying something new- the New England region and NY/NJ are joining together to hold one combined conference for the entire Northeast. This means we can bring you healthcare leaders from both regions, an opportunity to meet and network with even more students from different schools, exposure to different aspects of medicine and medical education — in short, the best of both regions.
This year’s conference theme is “A Changing Landscape.” We hope to address the changing face of medicine and the current state(s) of healthcare, in order to better equip our future physicians to serve not only API patients but all patients. Our lineup of speakers will bring different perspectives on the health issues facing API, whether API physicians or API patients or both. We hope you will take some of their ideas with you and apply them to your future careers as practicing physicians.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact APAMSA regional directors: Amy Zhang- New England region - region1@apamsa.org ; David Ku & Shelley Mo- NY/NJ region - region2@apamsa.org
